CASEY NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Note: Pictures are not displayed here because they are graphic and I know it bothers some people. If you would like to see photos of Casey, look here: http://photobucket.com/casey-mal
Casey is an 8-year-old male Malamute (75 lbs.) who needs a great deal of expensive medical care due to a lifetime of neglect. Casey spent the first 3-4 years of his life on a trailer porch living in his own excrement. In the winter, to keep out the chill, the owner would board up the entire porch so that the dog couldn't even look outside. So he lived in a dirty box for 6 months out of the year. Yet he is still a lovable, playful dog who longs for attention https://www.octafx-my.com/sign-in.
The owners were evicted from the trailer (over 30 cats, neighbors complained about the smell) and moved to a new home. Casey then lived in the backyard and garage, which was a drastic improvement but not sufficient. The owner was evicted again (only 28 cats this time) and had no place to keep Casey.
A good Samaritan contacted rescue to ask for help and said: "I am not able to keep Casey. I already have 2 dogs and do not have the means or knowledge necessary to rehabilitate Casey. He is a likable dog who is very playful and charming though! He really deserves a chance."
We took Casey to the vet yesterday (05/10/2012) and are waiting for test results to determine the best course of action. The vet bill already exceeds $500 and we expect the bill to be substantially more by the time we are done. If possible, please help us give this boy a better life by making a contribution for his care https://www.octafx-my.com/sign-in/.

All donations are used strictly for the care of the dogs and include vaccinations, treatment for parasites, and spay/neuter surgery. In addition, they often come into rescue with kennel cough, respiratory infections, malnutrition or other conditions associated with abuse, neglect, or life as a stray. They seldom have had the benefit of loving care from a caring owner, and thus rarely arrive in perfect health. Most importantly, we have a limited number of foster homes, so sometimes a kennel fee is the only thing that stands between a dog being euthanized in a shelter and our ability to offer emergency placement. Your donation, regardless of size, is always very gratefully accepted. All donations are used for the care of the dogs awaiting their forever homes.
The dogs helped by Closer to Home Animal Advocates, both past and future, send you a grateful wag of the tail for your donation of any size!
